2nd National Summit on Deaf Education in Nigeria

Background:
The first National Deaf Education Summit was organized by the Centre for Supportive Services for the Deaf, University of Ilorin in collaboration with the Nigeria National Association of the Deaf (NNAD) at the University of Ilorin Main Auditorium from Tuesday September 18, to Friday September 21, 2012 with the theme “Deaf Children: Right to Quality Education”.
Theme:
Empowering Deaf Learners: Advancing Quality Education through Nigerian Sign Language”.
Sub-Themes:
- Promoting Nigerian Sign Language in School Curriculum
- Improving the Quality of Education of the Deaf through Nigerian Sign Language
- Building Language of the Deaf through Nigerian Sign Language
- The Deaf School Environment and Nigerian Sign Language
- The Home-School Relationship and Nigerian Sign Language
- Nigerian Sign Language as the first tool in Educating the Deaf
- Teachers of the Deaf and Nigerian Sign Language Skills
- Accessible Learning Resources and Nigerian Sign Language
- Promoting Quality Education for the Deaf through Appropriate Deaf Teacher Education Curriculum
- Creating and promoting accessible Learning materials in Nigerian Sign Language
- Advocating for the production and distribution of educational resources that cater to the specific needs of deaf students.
Manuscript should be written in English Language Microsoft Word office, and should not exceed 12 typed written pages double spaced with 12 fonts size, Times New Roman, on A4 paper size. Two (2) hard copies of the manuscript should be submitted with a soft copy, which should be submitted via e-mail todeafeducationsummit@nnadeafhq.orgon or before 21st February, 2024.
Citations and references should comply with APA style, 7th Edition. Authors should indicate names, institution affiliation, email and phone number.
