The maiden edition of  Nigeria Deaf Women Annual General Meeting,(AGM) was  hosted by Lagos State Deaf Women Association at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos State, between 27th and 31st August, 2019. Delegates from different States arrived on 27th August and departed on 31st August.

The Theme for the AGM tagged ”BALANCE FOR BETTER”.

The program kicked off on Wednesday 28th August with charity  walk by our women, followed by opening ceremony on Thursday, 29th August.  The opening ceremony had in attendance our Chief Host and Mother of the  day, Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu and her entourage, and delivered her goodwill messages to our women. Also in attendance were delegates from Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviations and Ministry of Youth and Social Development.

The theme tagged ”BALANCE FOR BETTER” lecture was delivered by our erudite scholar, Mrs AbdulKareem Tawakalitu of SPED, Oyo.

Mrs. Jide-Aremo also discussed fully on Relationship and Marriage and training on different  types of  Family Planning. When and where to get it done. On day three of the program,

our women received training on how to tie Gele, Make Over  and how to make small chops. Followed by the Meeting, at the end of the meeting, Akwa Ibom won the right to host the next Annual General Meeting.

The Event was successful with over 250 Women from different part of the country in attendance.
